I think when you start you just need to find a fabric you like and stick with that for a while. I don't even think now when I'm counting over the 2 threads. :)

Your doing a great job on your pice and I'm enjoying watching it grow.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17892063935221485303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7219494353561771139.post-57639151134882754182007-09-05T21:14:00.000-07:002007-09-05T21:14:00.000-07:00Welcome to the blogging world. Went back and read your past posts and found I could identify with you on all the frustrations of blogging. I decided that I was not going to stress over it or spend a lot of time messing with it just to fluff it up. That would be a good waste of stitching time.

I have been stitching for about 25 years and the last 15 has been almost exclusively linen and evenweaves. One piece of advice on linens is to always start your stitch by a vertical thread. Otherwise sometimes part of you stitch will be lost under another thread and make things look like you missed part of a stitch.

I use the loop method when I can and then stitch all that color in the same area until I use up that needle of thread. Sometimes the amound of stitches in the area does not use up all the thread and if it is too small to loop the next time, I just discard it.

Sorry to be so long. Just want to try to be of assistance.

Good Luck. I am adding you to my list of frequently read blogs.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03129782982079230707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7219494353561771139.post-55439537588045715742007-09-05T18:22:00.000-07:002007-09-05T18:22:00.000-07:00Did you know that the three boys in the "Try it, y...Did you know that the three boys in the "Try it, you'll like it" commercial were brothers? Every time I saw that ad, I used to say they were brothers - and, lo and behold, on some "where are they now" show, Mikey was all grown up and said the other two were his brothers.

Maybe I need to give linen another try - I tried it several years ago, and made a real hash of it. You make it sound like fun!

I enjoy reading your blog.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11760788418108687657noreply@blogger.com
