A spring surprise and a sigh of relief

The other day I got the nicest surprise - a mysterious envelope arrived with a lovely skein of Crescent Colours floss - Ripe Melon. Enclosed was a note and a card with the url of a really neat blog: http://www.themovementyourturn.blogspot.com/. Here you are encouraged to do nice things for somebody, and post comments about what you did or how someone blessed you with a kindness. It was such a treat, a real pick-me-up, and I'm having fun deciding what to do now that it's "my turn." Thank you, anonymous friend (I have a sneaking suspicion that I know who you might be, but it's fun to speculate)!
The sigh of relief is because I am just about finished with Always and Forever (everything except the initials), and the border ends matched up! I can't tell you how scared I was as I approached the finish line, but all was well. I did make one mistake with this piece - I started the border one stitch above the tree more than there should be, but even though the bottom of the border was thus closer to the lettering, I think it looks okay.

Moon and Stars is still perking along - I'm just doing the finishing touches. So I hope to post pictures of that soon. Of course, soon for me could mean weeks, but I'm trying!

What a lovely surprise! It's an RAK sort of (random act of kindness!) Well, I'm happy for you and the floss is lovely - especially for spring.

No one would have noticed that the lettering was closer at the bottom if you hadn't mentioned it. We would think that was the way the pattern was. I'm like you - I hold my breath when I get close to a border having to match up. I think that's one of the reasons I hate borders especially on linen/evenweave which is harder to count and easier to make a mistake on. I took a framing class once and they said the top should have more space (like on a mat) than the bottom - it kind of gives it "weight" so it doesn't look like the piece is floating. I love your finished piece. Are you going to frame it?

So I was wondering who the little mystery sender was...and now after reading your post I think I might know :)

Always and Forever looks fabulous...your stitching is lovely and the color is really pretty. Can I borrow this pattern when you've finished it? I'd like to stitch this for Hubby's side of the bed...and I'd send the pattern back to you (pretty please!)

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DESIGN! And I think it's absolutely perfect as it is! No one would even guess there was a minor mistake if you hadn't said!

I'm putting the finishing touches in Peach Tree Cottage tonight if it's the last thing I do! I can't wait to see Moon and Stars finished for you!

How nice to be surprised by someone with floss. They must think that you are special just like a lot of us do.

Don't you feel great that you have finished something that looks so nice. No one can tell you that you started it differently that it was supposed to be. Great job!!!

Such a lovely finish.
Now isn't that just the coolest. What a lovely way to be surprised and then to pass it on.
