My first corded ornament

Thanks to Vonna's expert instructions (see her comment on my last post) I am now the proud possessor of a corded ornament made by my own hands. It's not perfect - close up you can see the join, but it's a lot better than I expected. It was even easy to glue the cording along the edges of the ornament - I thought I'd have to clamp it down or something, but it stuck on the first try. I love pinkeeps but I'm glad to add something new to my repertoire of finishes. I'm still working on my Sew Spooky pillow - in my continuing saga of mishaps, I misplaced the backing fabric I bought for it, and just uncovered it in a pile (my ornament is still among the missing). Hopefully I'll have something to show for it soon.
I have a thing for owls, and I found the most adorable freebie here. This designer has lots of free designs, and more are available at her Yahoo group. It's such fun to find new things to stitch!

Congratulations, your finish looks great. Love your backing material. I am hoping to do my first corded finish soon (have to finish stitching first). Hope you find your Sew Spooky.

Congratulations, Michele--you did a terrific job! Cording isn't the easiest thing to apply, but it gets easier the more you do it...

Love your little owl fabric that you backed the ornament with, too!

Awesome job! See? The cording isn't so hard to do!

I'll keep you in mind with the owl thing. A fellow stitcher is also a fan of owls and I'm always finding her cute crafty thing to make online. Apparently owls are quite popular with the DIY set.

Wow, you did a great job Michele. I can't even find the jon! And your fabric is perfect.
Looked everywhere here and sad to say you didn't leave Sew Spooky here LOL.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment :) You did a great job with the cording, I can't see the join from here! I hate joining cording so much that I usually just leave the ends dangling loose at the bottom; I've just read Vonna's comment to you though and I might try her way next time.
