What a Wonderful Welcome

What a thrill to check my blog and find so many lovely comments. You all are the nicest people in cyberspace. I really appreciate all the encouragement; you are very motivating! I've had a great time looking at all your blogs (many of which I have visited before) and will be adding you to my Inspirations links. Thank you all for your warm welcome.

I didn't get any stitching time today because my seven-year-old insisted on playing a marathon game of Yu-Gi-Oh, a card game with rules understood only by a small boy. I lost, at least I think I did - who could tell? I'm about to start now even though I ought to be preparing for bed (this hobby sure is addicting - not that I need to tell any of you that). Meanwhile I have a picture of another small piece I have done - the French Country Apple by JBW Designs.

This was easy and fun to stitch. I have a start on one of her Christmas designs but have put it down to pursue other things for awhile.

I have a blogging question if anyone wouldn't mind answering. So many of your blogs have wonderful designs that I know don't come from the basic templates Blogger offers. And I love the pictures in the masthead look. But I haven't been able to figure out how you find new templates, or how to insert a picture at the top (how in the world do you know what size image to use, for one thing?) I'm not sure what is more of a challenge - learning to cross stitch or mastering the blog world!

Thank you all again SO much for welcoming me into this very special community.

Michele, your blog looks wonderful!! I wish you lived nearby so you could teach your goddaughter how to do this. :) Another homeschooling mom got her started last summer but she became frustrated because it snagged so frequently -- the thread would sort of knot up and get "stuck" -- and we were having trouble counting...I think she needed to start with something a little easier!

I'll be back often to see your progress!

TTYS!

Welcome to cross stitch and blogging Michele! I'm fairly new to the blogging world as well, and still get excited when I see people leaving comments.

Love your JBW Apple design, I have it and a few others, and just finished the Pumpkin one a couple of weeks ago. Your stitching looks great, and the finishes are all very cute. Looking forward to seeing more.

Don't worry too much if you find you didn't a part in the "wrong" color, pretty soon you'll be changing colors on purpose!

Michele,
Welcome to the world of stitching! I've been at it for a long time and I think I get slower every year! We all make mistakes so don't let that bother you! Sometimes I frog, sometimes not. I can't help you with the blogging questions since I am so new at it myself but maybe someone will answer your questions for you.
Love the JBW patterns - I have several of those in my stash - I even bought the pumpkin one twice - guess I really liked that one! LOL

Hello

We don't all manage to stitch up fabulous projects in just a few days :o) I've been stitching on my current project since February. I'm a VERY slow stitcher and only get maybe 2 or 3 hours, 3 or 4 times a week at most.

I think your stitching is beautiful. I can't see anything wrong with it at all. You certainly don't stitch like a beginner. I think we are all a little too 'particular' when it comes to our own stitching.

Welcome to the stitching bloggers world :o)

Welcome Michelle :) I love your stitching, we have similar tastes. I did the Apple design in January and loved it. Yours looks great :) I used to be scared of different finishing methods too, I framed everything! I am getting braver now, so just jump in with both feet!

I just found your blog and I am in the same place as you! I have recently come back to stitching after being gone for several years. I am pretty slow too but I try to enjoy the process. I have bookmarked your blog and will check back for inspiration! From one pokey stitcher to another...speed is over-rated!!

Welcome to the world of blogging. I am sorry that I can't help you with your question, I haven't attempted to put any pictures in the banner. I love your stitching.
Well done.

Hi Michele - I love you blog and your honest sense of humor. I play Yu-Gi-Oh by that same weird set of "boy rules" that you do. My 11-yr old explains the "rules" and they seem to change EVERY time! :)
I'm so happy that you've found blogging and joy in stitching. Keep sharing your progress!
