Button, button, who's got the button?

This is my almost-finished Button, Button, which needs, well - buttons attached to it. I decided to do the Button Box version rather than the Button Bag - now I have to find a box that it fits! This was a relaxing project to stitch. Of course, it was not without one of those "only God does things perfectly" errors - the U in the last button has an extra stitch, but I'd have to take out a number of letters and frogging the floss would leave a slight residue of color (I've had this issue with Belle Soie before, but I love stitching with it). So I've decided to leave it alone and pretend I don't see it (she says hopefully).

We're going to Florida for a few days to visit my husband's mother, so I need a plane project to take along. Carol R.'s Sew Blue fits the bill, so I started it the other day. It's fun! I'm looking forward to Sew Autumn and Sew Noel.

I have a stash question - what are good online sources for linen? I don't have a lot of it so I'm always running out to the LNS to buy some for a particular project. I'd like to build up a supply so I could start things on a whim (though I always want to support my LNS). If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them!

Great finish. Really cute. Hope to see if after you add buttons. Maybe I should send you some from my Mother's collection. Do you want some?

As far as buying linen, it is difficult to know what to do. I have bought linen from various places without them being for a specific project. Many times on sale. Only to find when I go through the stash to look for something for a design, I don't have what I need in color or size. On the size side, I end up cutting the size I need then end up with several funky sized scraps that I cannot use for anything. Other times I will just use too big of a piece and end up wasting fabric rather than cutting it down to size. Most of the time, I just buy for projects as I need it or kit up designs with the required size fabric for future use.

This was rather long, but I hope it helps and makes sense.

So good to see a post from you Michele...was wondering how you are :)

Love your Buttons finish, and I would never have noticed anything wrong if you hadn't pointed it out. Have a wonderful trip!!!

That is a cute design, congratulations on the finish. As for linen, whenever I put in an order for stash I usually add a neutral fat quarter to it and over time I have been able to build up a small supply.

Oooh I love that finish! Find it some buttons and call it done! Looks great. I'm no help with the linen. I'd like to have a stash of that myself :)
